J. Reed Inside That Guy's Secret

The secret behind That Guy's Secret

Hello,

My name is Jeremy Reed, a little over a year and a half ago I started thinking and dreaming of owning a men's clothing store in downtown Lasalle, Illinois. At first I would just pitch the idea to my friends and family, gather their feedback and tweak my idea of what the perfect store would like if I ever decided to open. The more I did this the more I believed it was something I should pursue, so I started collecting information about the business, looking for the perfect space, and overall mentally writing a business plan.

It wasn't until about a year ago while sitting in O'hare airport with my lovely girlfriend Lia, and about a six hour delay for our flight to Europe that I actually put pen to paper. That's right the actual business plan and strategy for That Guy's Secret (TGS) was written while drinking beer at an airport bar around seven in the morning.

By this time I had went over the majority of the details mentally so I knew what I wanted the name to be, the style of clothes, the vibe of the store, and even the core belief of the store and men's fashion "the secret behind TGS " if you will. I had a good idea of all of this but the key was putting it on to paper so that everyone else could understand my vision.

This vision of mine wasn't merely to sell clothes but to help other guys to reach the goals they had in their minds and build a better community along the way. We have all been in a situation where we ask how is THAT GUY so lucky, successful, ..., so on and so on ? The secret behind that question and TGS is said best by NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders. Everyone that has known me for years , knows that Primetime was one of my biggest idols growing up, so when he said "when you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good, you play good, and when you play good, they pay good." it stuck with me for life.

Confidence is the key to success, and the easiest way to gain confidence is to improve the way you look at yourself. My advice to you and everyone who shops with me is wear things that you think you look good in as often as you possibly can, because you will end up having a string of good days and lead you to a successful life.

I plan on writing in this blog as often as I can helping with trends, advice, and just some stories of running That Guy's Secret.
