A quiet showcase of Seiko's watchmaking craft, the Presage Open Heart pairs a hand-finished dial with a window onto the movement itself. The Sumi-Iro dial takes its name and color from the deep gray-black of traditional monk's robes, its radial pattern modeled after the texture of raw silk thread — a nod to Seiko's roots in Japanese textile and craft traditions. At 9 o'clock, an open aperture reveals the balance wheel in constant motion, a small piece of mechanical theater on the wrist.
Inside is Seiko's in-house Caliber 6R5J, an automatic movement with manual winding capability, a 24-hour hand, and a stop-second (hacking) function for precise time-setting. It's rated to +25/-15 seconds per day and holds an approximate 72-hour (3-day) power reserve — enough to sit through a weekend off the wrist and still be ready to wear Monday.
